The founder
A games founder, now publishing.
Joakim Achrén is a Finnish founder and writer. He has co-founded two games studios. The second, Next Games, built the official mobile games for The Walking Dead, Stranger Things, and Blade Runner, working directly with AMC, Netflix, and the Blade Runner rights holders. Netflix acquired Next Games in 2022.
He has written three books: The Long Term Game (2020), Sleep Again (2026), and its Finnish edition Nuku uudelleen (2026). Achrén Editions runs on the production stack he built.
The imprint
Books that wouldn't get made otherwise.
Achrén Editions publishes books that wouldn't get made otherwise, using a production model that wouldn't have been possible five years ago. A small number of titles a year, each with a full production stack: research, editorial, audiobook, translation, and distribution.
